Local Wildlife
With its environmentally conscious residents, building design, and landscaping, Sunriver is a unique place. Long before the term "sustainable community" was coined, John Gray and Jim Anderson took those concepts and turned them into something real. The result is a beautiful community that blends with its natural surroundings and where animals, plants, homes, trees, and people share habitat peacefully.
If you're quiet and observant, you'll likely see many of the animals shown below that call Sunriver home. A few may nearly walk up to the door. If you see or come upon some our native residents, freely observe them, but please be kind and leave them alone. In addition, nests and nesting areas should be carefully avoided, especially during spring and early summer. Note: Local laws prohibit the feeding of wildlife.
